Thursdays with Friends Hockney Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Speakers’ Guild member, Gretchen Sassone, returns to introduce us to the Hockney Van Gogh exhibit, on display at MFAH through June 20 The exhibit brings together the works of 19th century Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh and major contemporary multimedia British artist David Hockney who, though separated by 100 years in time, share a timeless and deep love for nature and its many aspects. In this talk we'll see how Hockney was influenced by Van Gogh and how each brought their own unique talents and points of view to their depictions of nature in their art. Register by 10 a.m. on the day of the program.
