Pure Sound presents "Once Upon a Mattress"

Once Upon a Mattress is a tuneful and hilarious twist on the beloved fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” With music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer, this classic musical comedy features a domineering Queen, a mute King, their rather drab son Prince Dauntless, a scheming Wizard, a clever and conniving Minstrel and Jester duo, an ensemble of knights and ladies-in-waiting all desperate to marry, and a singing and dancing heroine Princess who is down-to-earth and full of heart. These characters will be enthusiastically brought to life for you by twenty members of our Pure Sound Youth Choir in their first return to the Rotunda Theater since 2019!

Directed by Tina Throckmorton. Music directed by Sid Davis. Choreographed by Lindsey Hurst.
